What you see Located on the ground level, Prego, Westins signature Italian restaurant can be accessed from the hotel via the lobby or from the Prego courtyard. A lively and vibrant open kitchen turns the preparation of your meal into entertainment. The staff is friendly and the chef smiles robustly as he sees you enjoying your meal. The colorful yellow and mustard interiors feature stone and natural wood with large windows that open up into a beautiful courtyard for alfresco dining. A feature bar and a wine display wall facilitates service to guests dining in the restaurant as well as acts as a waiting area for diners. Diners can enjoy pulsating Italian and Mediterranean pop music.

What you get – Prego serves set and a la carte vegetarian and non-vegetarian fare for lunch and dinner. Wine is served with dinner set menu whereas lunch set menu has no beverages included. We opted for set non-vegetarian lunch called Firenze and started with the signature mocktail, Berry Werry, a fizzy berry drink, delectable and not too sweet. The signature cocktail called Italianese is a stylish drink with Pinot Grigio, an Italian wine with Peach Schnapps and Cranberry juice. Apart from these, the restaurant has an extensive wine list of Italian and new world wines, international boutique beers and specialty cocktails.

The starter, Bruschetta Trilogy, consisted of home bread with three different toppings of sweet fig chutney, pesto sauce and mozzarella cheese. The main course, Salmone alla griglia con lenticchie was served deftly by an attentive staff. This signature dish of Chef Rossano Renzelli had grilled fresh Norwegian salmon served with sweet and tangy black lentils made in red wine and pearl onions. Dessert was Pregos famous mud pie aptly called Zuccotto alla ciocoolata, which is a marvellous chocolate based pie, served chilled.

Our verdict – Prego is an upscale and contemporary tratorria style restaurant and can be enjoyed at all occasions whether a business lunch or fun filled evening. Families can enjoy as Prego has an attractive kids menu specially designed, consisting of innovative small portion dishes like Lasagne, Risotto and Gelato fizz to name a few. Rustic Italian fare interspersed with cheerful and efficient service make for an inviting and memorable culinary journey. Guests are encouraged to involve in some loopiness by wearing funky glasses and the moment is captured by the staff and handed over as a souvenir in a Prego frame. It also adorns the Prego Wall of Fame as a memoir of your loopy moments. Valet parking facility is available.
